General
IndyFurCon is a furry convention that takes place every year in Indianapolis, IN.
No, you do not need to be a furry to come to our convention, however IndyFurCon is a primarily a furry convention, so please remain respectful of the attendees who do identify as furry. Many of our attending members also overlap in anime, science fiction, LGBTQA+, and other circles.
You are welcome to join us as an ally, a family member, or simply a curious member of the public.
There will be programming event spaces that require you to register in order to attend, you may find out more from the Registration links on our website!
No, it is not a requirement to own/bring/wear a fursuit to come to IndyFurCon. A fursuit is a luxury good some people have taken the time to create and/or purchase. Only about 20% of our attendees bring fursuits (our parade count was 330 in 2023); fursuits tend to be easy to notice, so it can feel like more people have and showcase them. You don’t even have to be a furry to enjoy a furry con, but don’t be shocked if you start enjoying anthropomorphic artwork (furry means you are a fan of this) more after you spend a weekend with us!
We are an all-ages convention! IndyFurCon has a reputation of being a good first-time con for families, hosting activities and panels that appeal to many interests and age groups. We regularly see many families attend, especially on Saturday when we will host our two minor-exclusive panels. We had over 200 minors attend our convention in 2023.
Details about attending minors can both be found in our Policies and on the Registration FAQs page.
We will also be hosting some Adult-rated programming and a Night Market on Friday night & Saturday night. All adult-rated panels will notate a maturity rating in the description (found on Sched and in the conbook), and will require ID verification for entrance.

Yes! We launched a service called Dignity Support Services. This is meant to assist any attendees who need accommodations to experience a great convention weekend. Check out the DSS page here on the website, and stop by our table during the convention to ask questions and utilize our services!
This does not cost a fee to use, and we do our best to respect all requests. At this time, we are mainly focusing on physical mobility, but we may have more opportunities to help by the time we open con in September.
Programming
The Fursuit Parade is normally held on Saturday each year. The parade route can be found in our Con Book, and possibly online once we have more information.
Details about Line-up for the parade and picture are To Be Announced for 2026!
Yes, we prefer everyone who is walking in the parade to be either wearing a fursuit or assisting / acting as a handler for a someone that is.
If you have further questions, please feel email our programming team: programming@indyfurcon.com
The Nightly Dances are DJ-mixed music & light shows courtesy of our A/V Team & Vendor. These occur in the later hours of each night at con. All ages are welcome, come to dance or just enjoy the music.
Fursuit Dance Competition is a showcase of dancing fursuiters. These dancers choose their music and choreography ahead of time to deliver a dazzling performance to the audience and a panel of judges. This event is very popular, so arriving early to grab seats can be wise.
Floor Warz is a dance-off competition of dancers, wearing suits or not, with music previously unknown to them, doing their best to impress the judges and audience with their skills to improvise and out-dance anyone else. This can also be a popular event, so early arrivals can get better seating.
See more information at our Dances page!
We are still baking the 2026 Schedule! It will be found both from the Homepage & HERE!
Yes, Any panels that are marked as 18+ or 21+ will be ID-checked at the door.
Panels with other ratings are parental advisory ratings, to help attendees and their family have a guide to content & language usage. Panels with the 18+ or 21+ rating will only be accessible by bringing your ID with you when you enter.
Hotel
A few months prior to con, IndyFurCon opens up a room block at the con hotel to help attendees have space close to con programming events.
2026’s room block has not yet opened. Please visit our Hotel page updates.
If you booked within the official IndyFurCon room block at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, all reservation questions can be answered by reaching out directly to the hotel. Please visit our hotel page for contact information.
Note: room reservations done under a group rate often requires speaking to a hotel sales representative to ensure you continue to keep your discounted room rate. If you booked outside of the con block, you can probably make changes via the reservation site/mobile app.
Not at all! We are delighted to have attendees who live local or stay at neighboring hotels as well.
All room related special requests are handled directly by the Hotel’s guest service team. Please contact the hotel directly to submit your request. The hotel contact information is located on our Hotel page.
