To be allowed as a Press Member or “Press” at any Indiana Anthropomorphic Arts, Inc. (IAAI) events, including IndyFurCon (iFC) the Press must fall under the following criteria.

Applications will be given upon request. Applications need to be filled out as soon as possible for the press team to review the application.

That contact and request must demonstrate that a member of the press is qualified for a Press Pass, a request must be accompanied by one or more of the following:

• Record of three published print or website pieces within the past two years, with a reputable outlet and/or with strong journalistic merit and integrity;
• Record of three audio/video pieces or a 15-minute feature broadcast in the same period, with a reputable outlet and/or with strong journalistic merit and integrity; or
• Record of publication in a book or anthology by a non-vanity publisher within the past five years that maintains a standard of strong journalistic merit and integrity

• An IAAI Executive Board Member will assign a PR Liaison to the Press Member(s)
  • This may be the standing Public Relations Staff within IndyFurCon, or on an ad hoc/temporary basis an eligible and qualified staff member.
• IThe PR Liaison will communicate with and attend to the potential Press Member(s).
• The PR Liaison will further vet the requested potential Press Member(s).

• If the press intends to talk to any public attendees the convention needs notice a minimum of 45 days prior to convention start.
• If the press intends to talk to any lower staff the convention needs a minimum of 7 days prior to convention start.
• If the press intends to talk to board members the convention needs a minimum of 3 days prior to convention start.

Filming may only take place in common areas unless there is explicit permission

Permission may be granted by talking to panelists, vendors, and artists. Permission must be verified with a PR staff member present or via written notice.

What is deemed a press activity is directly at the discretion of the Board members of the calendar year the activity is taking place. This includes but is not limited to access and observation, selection and filtering, processing and editing, distribution, and interpretation of ideas, writings, and other media. Press activities may be revoked at any time by the PR Liaison or an IAAI Executive Board member, as they see fit.

1. The tentative acceptance does not become true acceptance until the Press Badges are handed to the press members.
2. The PR liaison will greet the potential press members, escort them to con ops, and have them review and sign the Press Agreement Form

      1. Date
      2. Name of the press member
      3. Company of the press member
      4. The media form of the piece
      5. The publication location of the piece
      6. Agreement to the code of conduct
      7. Agreement to the parameters above
      8. Agreement to understanding of press activities
      9. Agreement to Understanding that if they chose to come back as an attendee, and not as a press guest and choose to continue press activities they will be banned from future IAAI events

1. If the individuals do not agree to the Press Agreement form their guest status is revoked and they are escorted from con space.
2. Any revocation is only for the continuation of the con cycle. Applications for press guests may be applied again for the next IAAI sponsored event.
